Pidgin: msn buddies online showed as offline

I've been using gaim 2.0beta2 for a few days and found that a lot of my friends were offline.

I was very surprised then when one of them using MSN sent me an IM. He was definitely online and we chatted for a while but his status on gaim was offline.

any brillant ideas why and how to solve this issue?

Try the 2.0b3.1 pre-release in the beta forum. Everything before 2.0 Beta 3.1 of Gaim has issues with MSN since MSN changed their communications protocols a few weeks back.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
