Why is there a version 5.0.1?

Why is there a version 5.0.1 when there is no UPDATE released?

When I select "Check for Updates" in v5.0, it says, "Firefox is up to date"

Legacy

For users who haven't yet upgraded, 3.6.x is being maintained by Mozilla 'for a short time'. It gets security updates until end of life. That will be happening shortly, I'd wager. Until then, we make it available as a legacy release. It's really primarily for web designers to test that their sites still work with a version that a lot of users still have. We've always done this.
