Does keeping pen drive in Computer 24/7 cause problems. have lost 2 recently one had thunderbird portable on it. Have got all details back on new pen drive. But my question is should I safely remove every evening and reinsert pen drive at start of new day?
Computer is Acer aspire 5742Z running win 7.

I (used to) regularly leave my usb drive in my computer from Friday evening to Monday morning without issue.
The only reason I stopped was a short-circuit in the wiring of my old flat destroyed my computer at the time (it was turned on) including the usb drive plugged into it.
The only way having it plugged in all the time may affect it's lifespan is if you leave apps running on it that are constantly doing read/write operations while you are not at the computer. If you don't have anything running on it, though, it should be fine.
