This awesome piece of software warms your screen at night so it doesn't shine so bright. It's easier on the eyes and you go to sleep faster after using the pc/laptop.
Although it's not OSS, it is available for free at http://stereopsis.com/flux/. You can reach them on flux@mikeandlorna.com, because they probably need to give permission to repackage the app.
I already found out that the program does not need installing because I simply extracted the installer and it worked. However, I have no idea if it leaves anything behind. I would not know how to check that.

Thanks. If they respond favorably then I'll be happy to help out in anyway a very informed and talented, although not nerd-level skilled, computer user can.
EDIT: I guess the best option would be to have the 8 registry entries (I looked them up with Process Monitor from Sysinternals) stored in an ini file, but that would depend on the willingness of the developers. It would give them a bigger platform for distribution.
