Firefox 5 Portable, Sandboxie and urlclassifier3.sqlite

I've been using the Mozilla browser since it was called Phoenix. Version 5 is my first foray into its portable iteration. I use FF heavily for commerce and banking and verified all was A-OK especially with my security layering. I began to run it in Sandboxie and again all was A-OK *except* for urlclassifier3.sqlite. It does not update at all. I do notice urlclassifierkey3.txt occasionally getting written meaning that the operation is functional but the sqlite file isn't appended. I wasn't able to gain a solution at the Sandboxie forum. Any ideas? Thanks!

Why Sandboxie?

Why are you using Sandboxie? Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is all that you need. It is portable in itself.

Thank you, Chris.

I greatly appreciate your verification that Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is portable. When I downloaded it from PortableApps, watched it extract all into one folder and ran it from that one folder I did find myself wondering, "Is this portable?" Smile

As to your question about Sandboxie, see sandboxie dot com.

Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is *ALL* I need? Interesting; I wasn't aware of that. Please explain portable's protection for the host system against Web-born PUAs and the latest crop of ransomware given possible failures by Mozilla's resident Phishing and Attack site protection (as enabled by the two Options > Security > "Block reported..." settings)? And would portable's protection be effective against MITM vectors?

BTW, as interesting (and off-topic) as this discussion could become, can you contribute to my original posting or not? Thanks!!

In the meantime, I've come to notice that the urlclassifier3.sqlite does update when I bring my computer out of standby first thing in the morning. But, again, it's not updated until the next standby/bring-out-of-standby cycle.

Regards to all.
