I can not change / modify the file association so that they open the new version 3.4.2

Hi,

1. I've been running LibreOffice Portable v.3.3.3, no problem.
(Location: C:\Users \Patris \Downloads \LibreOffice \LibreOfficePortable).

2. Install the new version 3.4.2, in the same location as the previous version (3.3.3), however, does not accept installed in the same folder above says that the location is invalid, I should create another location. Undo the previous process.

4. Generating a new folder location and install LibreOfficePortable v.3.4.2
(new location: C:\Users \Patris \Downloads \LibreOfficePortable ) Now open and working properly on the version.

5. Problem:
Existing files generated in previous versions, are associated with the previous version 3.3.3 and there is no way to change this (at least I do not know how). If I delete the folder containing LibreOfficePortable 3.3.3, the files are with blank icons and I can not associate to the new version, Windows will not let me.

How do I change the file association? the normal procedure does not work for me. Please someone help me?

Appreciate your valuable comments
Thanks
patris (OS: Windows Vista Home Basic, sp2)

File Associations

File associations shouldn't be done within the app itself as it will associate the app and not the portable version, which can cause issues.

We recommend either eXpresso or PortableFileAssociator at the moment. They can act as standalone apps or be installed into the PortableApps.com Platform and set to auto-start as an 'add-on' if you will.

We're integrating file associations into the platform proper shortly by popular request to make it easier and more automated.

If you'd like to associate them directly in Windows now, though, since you're running them locally, you can do that using the normal methods in Windows XP or in Vista/7.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Fixed association problem!

Hi,

-Today in the morning, I decided to delete the two folders directories containing the versions already mentioned (v3.3.3 and v3.4.2)
-Then, I carried out a cleaning with CCleaner
-Later, re-initiated the pc
-and finally re-installed version 3.4.2 in a directory LibreOfficePortable

Location: C:\Users\xxxxx\Downloads\LibreOffice\LibreOfficePortable

Now everything is fine, everything working properly.

Thanks.
