3.0 DT1 - August 14, 2011: Initial Release

Other Notes
Is it Cool Reader or CoolReader?!! I'm going with Cool Reader because that's the first thing you see on the homepage (unless your looking at the titlebar).

Also, should the category be Office? I think that's the closest fit, but it still don't feel right.

Not working for me

Hi:

Want to report that CoolReader breaks down and closes when opening some ePub files, that I have tested in other players' software and hardware. I still can´t determine what is it that closes the program.

Regards

Base app issue

It looks like an issue with Cool Reader itself. Can you link to an ePub file not working? Or try reproducing the problem with the original build (link to direct download) and see if it still occurs in that (you'll get a directory at %USERPROFILE%\cr3 which you can delete after you exit the app to get rid of traces after you run it).

We need this!

I find myself reading ebooks from my desktop more and more. I know Sigil is on the line up, but that is a full editor and very difficult to just *read* a book from it.

As there isn't really an easy to install, portable epub reader out there, I think this would fill the line up nicely (and appears to be low maintenance to boot.)

Thank you for doing this, Pyro. I've been using it for months now.

I've installed Calibre

I've installed Calibre Portable on my computer and placed a link to the reader exe (C:\Calibre Port 2_0\Calibre\ebook-viewer.exe) and the editor (C:\Calibre Port 2_0\Calibre\ebook-edit.exe) to the desktop and use them to open either application without all the baggage of the library maintenance. Works fine. Keeps up with about ten recently opened books.

Calibre lite

I want to add to my last comment about using Calibre. The same links can be placed on portable media containing Calibre Portable. As lonk as the link can find the target it will work.
