maybe something changed? should i set the path where to search for the apps? new updater doesn't find updates for any app

You should have the PortableApps.com Platform installed with Start.exe at the root of your drive. In there, you'll see a PortableApps and a Documents directory. In the PortableApps directory you'll find a PortableApps.com directory (with the updater and platform) as well as directories for your installed apps. You could have also installed that whole thing to a directory like X:\Portable if you wanted (so Start.exe and the PortableApps and Documents directories are in there). If you go moving any of that around, it will stop working.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
thank you, now it works again.
but the previous version was better, it worked with apps in every location under the root.
now, at least, it could be useful to be able to set the path manually.
