I am using 5PCs in paralell to work on. On all PCs the Data is kept in sync by Dropbox.
I am using Mozilla Thunderbird installed like:
D:\Dropbox\PortableApps.sync\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable
with the data in:
D:\Dropbox\Thunderbird-Daten.sync
with its subfolders:
email(at)gmx.net
anotheremail(at)gmx.net
.....
local Folders
profile
This setup is working fine on all PCs
When I have used Thunderbird on one PC I have to wait for the syncing done by Dropbox until I can start Thunderbird on another PC. That means checking the sync-state on all PCs befor using Thunderbird.
What I am looking for is a syncing mecanism that prevents me from starting Thunderbird when ist is not in sync. Does anybody have an Idea?
Thanks for your help.
Relative paths up above the ThunderbirdPortable.exe launcher are not supported. They never have been. They happen to work due to a trick of the way our coding language handles paths. But they will not work with the way extension updates are handled in Mozilla apps now in sqlite databases that we update.
As for waiting until it is synced, I think the only way is to look at the folder in Explorer and wait for the little DropBox folder icon that shows that it is currently syncing to go away.
