Corrupted Data Message?

Had/have OpenOffice Portable 2.02 on a secondary/slave drive on my CPU; installed 2.03 but when I open it I get following error message:

Configuration data in E:/Documents & Settings/myname/PortableOpenOffice/OpenOfficePortable/App/openoffice/share/uno_packages/cache/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.configuration.PackageRegistryBackend/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/UI/StartModuleWindowState.xcu' is corrupted. Without this data some functions may not operate correctly. Do you want to continue startup of OpenOffice.org without the corrupted configuration data? Yes/No?

Regardless of whether I click Yes or No, the program starts and appears to be running but my question is what's wrong? I tried deleting 2.02 but that didn't help. Restored it and left it while reinstalling 2.03 but that didn't help. Any suggestions? E drive is my "old C" drive which I use as a slave/backup. Incidentally, 2.03 seems to work without this problem on an external hard drive.

Path Too Long

The reason for this is that your path is too long. OpenOffice.org has actually gotten a bit less forgiving about long paths. I think I may calculate out what the max is and add a check into the launcher in a future patch so people know what's going on. Extract it directoy to a drive root or a PortableApps subdirectoy off the root and it'll work fine from any drive.

SUCCESS!! New question

Guess what--you're right. Installed to shorter root:

E:\Documents & Settings\my name\OpenOfficePortable.

Now works like a champ. You're brillant!

NUSUB:

in Impress, want to insert an animated line on the Master so that each slide will show a line going across at the top. However, I can insert the line OK, but Custom animation doesn't seem to work for Master, only on an individual slide. Any suggestions??

I'm not as familiar with Impress. Since this is a standard OO question, check the OO documentation and, if needed, drop a note to the forums at ooforums.org.
