Opera Portable: Won't run when it detects an Opera instance running (portable or non-portable)

How do I set Opera Portable to still run itself even if it detects that another Opera instance is already running? Opera Portable states that "Another instance of Opera, Portable Edition is already running..." if run with Opera (even with the regular, non-Portable edition).

In Firefox Portable, I can run Firefox Portable with a regular non-Portable version of Firefox by setting AllowMultipleInstances=true in FirefoxPortable.ini.

Maybe it cant

Maybe Opera is one of these apps that can only have one running instance. I am just guessing here but that could be it.

Don't think so.Opera@USB can run with regular,non-portable Opera

I have also used Opera@USB (another portable version of Opera) and it will run even if a regular, non-portable instance of Opera is already running.

I believe this is a PortableApps.com Opera limitation (Firefox Portable has the same limitation, unless configured to have FirefoxPortable.ini in the same directory as its EXE and has the AllowMultipleInstances=true line in it). I can't find documentation on how to allow this in Opera Portable.

I don't know for Opera

I don't know for Opera Portable, but for Firefox Portable, multiple instances breaks portability to a certain extent.
Last time I checked, Opera@USB had some portability issues as well, but maybe that is fixed in the latest release. It left a registry entry and some path settings broke, but that was a while ago.

By Design

This is by design so that the Opera Portable launcher can clean up registry keys once Opera closes. Opera@USB isn't it's own product anymore. It's just a zipped version of the standard Opera install done in portable/USB mode. And that version of Opera is not fully portable as it will leave bits behind in the local registry on every PC as well as having paths within the Opera settings, speed dial, etc break.
