The start.exe portable apps launcher takes a very long time to load the list of applications on both my i5 and i7 computers.
However, it does it almost instantly on my older computers. Did anybody ever noticed it?
Does the launcher does not support multiple CPUs? Because even in my i7 it takes about 5-10 seconds to list about 60 applications.
Does the launcher does not support USB 3.0 port?
Or am I missing something? Some i3 processors list all programs almost instantly, however my i7 takes a while.
Any help is appreciated.
It's crap on XP but amazingly fast on Vista/7.
In the future, there will be caching of the menu items, and probably make loading times significantly faster.
as for example on w2k it loads the list of programs very fast, on XP very slow and on w7 it goes again little bit faster, while on w98 it is slightly slower again.
The computers with w2k are all very old and have even usb1.1
the problem seems to be with operating system only, it is more on the side how does the os deal with many small files to be read from the usb drive.
Even on my multiboot computer with xp, w7 and linux, the loading is on XP much longer then on w7.
