You'll need to turn on the "portable passwords" feature. Take a look at help.html.

thank you very much for your support, Chris!
as described in the help.html, i turned the "portable passwords" feature on but now - after entering the master-password - i always get 4 error-messages telling me that the profile i use is temporary. it seems to me that i need to manually setup some kind standard-profil to provide chrome with a location to save the data there.
is this correct and how can i do that?
I've never seen anything like that. What are the messages?

here are some screenshots of all the error messages i get.
The important thing there is that the portable passwords plugin is failing with the error "Could not create key container". I don't know what the cause of that would be.

Could it be one of those specialized Windows installs like nLite or something? They may not install the proper components for Google Chrome and our launcher to be able to handle encryption.

I installed Chrome using the portableapps-software. I think i'll try to reinstall it and give it another try...
I was talking about how you installed Windows and whether it was a legit install or one of those odd installers that attempts to do a minimal install like vLite or something that tries to rip IE out of Windows.

i only use standard windows 7 setups. pretty everything's as it is shipped by microsoft.
I've now re-installed google chrome but the error still occurs. The only work-around i found is "EncryptPortablePasswords=false"...
