Folders: I don't like 'em

I know it's a bit selfish, but I don't like opening up my thumb drive and seeing a bunch of folders. Then clicking on said folders. Then clicking on the application.

Is there any way to lift the program from the folder, hide the folder, and still have it work?

Please don't suggest creating a shortcut; I have already tried this multiple times and it works for a week or two but is then made "invalid" (No idea why).

I'm customizing a thumb drive with apps as a girl's wedding gift; I know she doesn't want to be clicking around/through folders. This is a problem. I want permanent solutions.

Unfortunately there isn't

Unfortunately there isn't really anything you can do. The folder structure is designed with the Portable Apps platform in mind, and breaking that structure either breaks the platform's functionality, or breaks the app itself.

It sounds to me like you aren't actually using the platform, am I correct? The platform is a much quicker and easier way to use/run/launch your portable apps, and requires no clicking through the filesystem.

Platform

The best thing to do is use the platform. Once you open your drive, you just run Start.exe and then you get a customizable menu with your apps organized as you'd like them. You can easily add new apps from the app store and update them automatically as well.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
