I realise that there is not yet a PA.c version of Seamonkey 2.4.1.
What are the consequences of allowing Seamonkey portable to update itself (or invoking this via Help -> Check for Updates ?
Will it screw anything up - other than the PA.c menu showing the wrong version?
Regards
Nick
As no-one else commented on this - and there's no indication that a PA.c version of 2.4.1 is in the pipeline - I went ahead and allowed Seamonkey to update itself. Seems to have worked fine.

Should work, but you may miss updates to the launcher. Btw. you did realize that Seamonkey is in the update queue as indicated here? Updates seem to come out more slowly atm because John is about to push out the next pre-release next week (and has caught a cold meanwhile...)

Yes, I saw it there several days ago, but there's no indication of progress such as "building", "testing" or "submitted" so I wasn't sure how long it would be before it was available.
In the meantime Seamonkey has been nagging me to update (I'm sure there must be a way to turn off those notifications - to be honest I've been too lazy to go looking).

generally when you allow the app to auto update itself you risk the chance of breaking portability, it's generally recommended to wait until the next version is released on portableapps.com.
