How to make a software portable

There is a software called lottocheatah. I would like to make it portable so that I can use it on a virtual desktop. How can this be done?

A developer suggested to use the PortableApps.com Launcher, so you need to go through the PAF format, which can be found here https://portableapps.com/development.

You also need to make sure that the software is open-source, and/or need to get permission from the site/developer, if you are going to modify their software legally/officially.
