When I attempt to have Platform 'Next' Pre-Release 4.0 update to version 4.1, I get an error telling me it will not update while the application is running.
What am I doing wrong?

This has happened with all recent releases when updating via the automatic updater. All you have to do is start the update process, when it gets to that point just close (don't eject) the menu. The updater will then continue to run without the platform.
