You should use LibreOffice instead. LibreOffice is the new OpenOffice.org and is made by many of the same developers. They all left the OpenOffice.org project over a year ago at which time the OpenOffice.org project died. Oracle has since passed it on to Apache and they are trying to restart OpenOffice.org at some point, but until then, it is a dead app and you should switch to LibreOffice.
