Chrome Portable error

Work currently blocks the download of Chrome and only allows IE/Firefox. Since I use Chrome at home and love it, I've been searching for a workaround. I downloaded Chrome Portable on a USB key and it works at home, but when I try to use it on my work laptop, I get the message "Google Chrome Portable cannot be started. You may wish to re-install to fix this issue. (ERROR: chrome.exe could not be found). Does anyone have any ideas?!
