file associations (well it works for me)

I mostly use portable appz so I don't have to install programs. So without installing how to easily set file associations. I found Open Expert
http://www.baxbex.com/ox2.html

worked great so far, next i want to test and see where it saves it's files and be able to save that info. Anyway just thought it might help some others.

I also found
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tweak/tweak-0.8.42.zip?use_default=su...
a command line file association tool. I could just make a bat file to register them all.

hummmmm which to do.

you guys could write bat files that run at pstart startup, and write a bat file to re-register the origional extensions....

A portable file manager

A portable file manager would be an easier and much less messy solution.

XYplorer's private file associations

XYplorer (portable file manager, http://www.xyplorer.com/) can maintain private file associations independently of the global ones defined in the Windows registry. These associations are stored in the app's local INI file, which allows you to travel with your own file associations.
More information can be found here: http://88.191.26.34/XYwiki/index.php/File_Associations
