@New Apps

It says here: "New apps every day is on a brief hiatus while we finish up the PortableApps.com Platform 'Next' release. We'll be releasing lots more new apps once it's done!" But the platform is already done, but it says here, https://portableapps.com/news/2011-12-08_-_portableapps.com_platform_10.... that he's going to start new apps again.

One week has passed, but no new apps. Could it be that no further new apps will be released after InstantBird?

Please Stop

I'm going to ask nicely that you stop with these nonsense doom and gloom posts ("Could it be that no further new apps will be released after InstantBird?") and ridiculous posts to move office spaces. They add nothing to the discussion here except noise and seem like a purposeful attempt at trolling (as one other dev has pointed out to me). I'm hoping that it is unintentional and due to a language barrier or similar. Either way, they are unnecessary.

New app releases will begin again soon, once we've caught up on outdated apps and have the new app directory in place (which was supposed to coincide with the new platform but was delayed due to Drupal issues).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Gimmick

The "one app a day" thing was a neat gimmick, but they've already got a ton of apps here. Some are great, others, well maybe they're just good or alright, but I think the selection is more than enough. Besides, there can only be so many apps that are,

A) Able to be made portable,
B) Open source -or- freeware where the author is willing to work with PA, and
C) High quality.

If it doesn't meet all of those, do you really want to see it just to have more quantity than, I don't know who, some other site? And apps are only gonna get updated as they need to be. Fixing bugs is good. Adding features is alright. Updating for the sake of increasing an arbitrary number is Chrome. I mean pointless. But I repeat myself. *rimshot*

If there's a specific app you want portable, go to the requests forum and throw up some information about it. If there's a specific kind of app but you're not sure what app specifically, ask about it. Make a topic saying, "Is there a portable app I can use for _____?". Is there a portable app I can use for editing the metadata of my audio files? Yes there is. Mp3Tag. Is there a portable app for getting a computer's specs? Yes there is. Speccy.

Relax

Every comment I read from you is negative. Find a different platform for your trolling or try to constructively add to this one. The people here are doing excellent work and you are reaping the wonderful results from it.

I would like to balance this post by stating that you guys are making my desktop at work a better pc by offering a way around all the restrictions that IT has decided on.
