This app has now been officially released and is available from the official Pencil Project Portable page.
Please note: If you are upgrading from the 1.3.4 Dev Test 1 release you should rename your existing installation folder from PencilPortable to PencilProjectPortable before installation. This will ensure that all settings, stencils and templates installed in your previous version are kept, and that you are ready for future releases (and automatic updates should Pencil become official).

1.3.4 Development Test 1 (2012-01-20): Initial release
I confused this with the 2D animation software by the same name.
Yeah, I found this app yesterday and fell in love with it. Searched here, found the other Pencil Portable that was released here years ago and saw that they were different.
I had considered calling this release "Pencil Project" to differentiate between the two, but people can figure it out from the description, plus Pencil Project is more the name of the website than the app. The only issue will arise if you try to install both (not that the other Pencil Portable is probably even downloadable any more, it was released in 2007).
We can have two apps with the same name, but we can't have two apps with the same AppID.
I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.
“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” – Proverbs 15:1
We could either call this one PencilProjectPortable, since that is the name of the project or call the other one PencilAnimationPortable. I plan on releasing the old Pencil when I get a moment later, so it's going to be coming back. Not sure about the actual names. We could use those for the full names, too (Pencil Project Portable and Pencil Animation Portable), so people don't get them confused. I think that may work best. Thoughts?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I think it is worth changing the AppId and full name for both.
As you say, it will help avoid confusion in the Platform, and only renaming one still provides that opportunity.
I'll update sometime today or tomorrow, and will also bring it up to latest Template, Launcher and Installer versions.
Updated to latest Template, Launcher and Installer, modified AppId and app name for compatibility with the other Pencil, added filetype associations ready for future Platform release.

%AppData%

Thanks for pointing that out. Will have a fix out soon.
Added handling for files/folders in %LocalAppData%.
Thanks. great job! I found I must run under as an administrator in Windows 7?
thanks
Thanks for that, I will look into it.
Launcher now requires admin on modern Windows versions as base app would not launch on Windows 7.
Updated base app, plus minor changes to the package.
Issue where app requires admin privileges on Win7 has been resolved. The issue was being caused by the app having been compacted.
