Thunderbird 3 Can't rename IMAP folder

Hi everyone

I'm using the Thunderbird 3.1.14 and I have one IMAP account that needs to be changed it's "Sent" folder to "Sent items". Though when editing the "Sent" folder options I can't change the "Name" or "Location" elements. Also I have tried to change it on the "about:config" the field "mail.identity.id7.fcc_folder" "imap://acount and server/Sent Items" but when i start thunderbird again this field returns to it's older value.

Thank you

Not Permitted

Thunderbird does not permit renaming 'built-in' folders like Sent.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Why?

Why are you trying to rename the IMAP "Sent" items folder?
If you can connect to the mail provider via webmail what is the 'Sent' folder called there?

With Thunderbird it tends not to be a case of needing to rename the IMAP 'Sent' folder, but rather go into the Account Settings, then go to the "Copies and Folders" section of the appropriate account. The top section of that page allows you to set where 'Sent' items for that account should be copied to. Normally it is the 'Sent' folder, but if you select 'Other' you'll then be able to select the "Sent Items" folder of the IMAP account.

You shouldn't need to change anything in the 'about:config'.

Hi

The provider is supported under exchange 2010 and they are telling me the folder name needs to be manually renamed to "Sent Folder" on 'about:config'.
If I create manually a new folder with the name "Sent Folder" and change the "Copies and Folders" destination folder, when I connect to the IMAP server, the previous manually created folder is erased.
Trying to change the destination like you describe, is only showed "Sent" not "Sent Folder".

Thank you

Sorry, "Sent Items" and not "Sent Folder".

Thank you
