Automatically check email?

I downloaded, installed, and started using Thunderbird Portable about 20 minutes ago. Wow! What a cool thing, and it was really easy to implement.

My only question, I know that Outlook Express has an option to automatically check email every x number of minutes. I can't seem to locate this option in Thunderbird. Is it not available in Thunderbird, or am I not looking in the right place? Thanks in advance for your help.

Oh, also, I configured it to check my GMail account, but I will be having it check other accounts as well. Will the port settings all be the same, regardless of the account?

General Questions

These are general Thunderbird questions and best read up on in the documentation. You'll find links to all the standard TB documentation from the Support page.

Thanks John. I can probably

Thanks John. I can probably figure out the port settings and all of that, but I'm not finding the part about having TB automatically check e-mail every x number of seconds. Can I get a little hint, at least? I'm just trying to find where to look.

Account Settings

It's right in account settings. Server settings particularly.
