OpenDUNE is an open source re-creation of the popular game “Dune II”, originally made by Westwood Studios, and released by Virgin Entertainment.
It attempts to re-create the original game and apply modern technology to it to allow it to be run natively on most operating systems.
OpenDUNE is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.0. For more information, see the COPYING file included with every release and source download of the game.

I used to play this for hours on a friend's Sega.
Just note that this is not an open source remake of the game, but is a new engine for the original game: you need to have a proper copy of the original game to use this.
I was going to make this portable, but since I don't have the original game I can't test to make sure the end product actually works.
That sucks I don't have a copy either.
you are right,
it really work only with original dune,
so i am cancelling my request.
there are better re-make of the game that they open source,
but they also need the real Dune II.
I found one project of Dune II that is a standalone,
but it imitation of Dune, and it on java.
