Embedded flash files in Thunderbird portable

Do flash embeds work for you? When I go to an RSS subscription with a flash file in it, I just get a black box. I know the plugin is installed.

flash where?

I dont know if it gets the flash from default position on computer by itself, but it could work better if you copy the flash player to the Data/plugin .

It is the mpswf32.dll and it is located in the system32/macromed/flash.

Get it from some xp computer, as in recent times adobe started to distribute versions tweaked for x64.

Well, I'm running Windows 7 and I copied the equivalent, which didn't work. I'll have to hunt down an xp machine and try again...

gone

and no loner there we tried

That ws from XP machine btw Only other thing I can suggest is to try getting the 32 bit installer from flash http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Choose the Windows 7 32 bit download for Internet Explorer 32 bit. Download, save, close Browser and install. I know I volunteer for an online chat community and once Adobe started with the 64 bit combo downloads it messed up a lot of people. By downloading this and installing it it seemed to mess up th e32 bit side. Even though they had 64 bit.

Might try it and then copy the dll again?

Last ditch shot at it.

.

for Internet Explorer 32 bit.

Um... Shouldn't it be the one "for other browsers"?

My posts are old and likely no longer relevant.

I forgot to mention that I am

I forgot to mention that I am running 64 bit. Does this make a difference? Also, when I run the installer, wouldn't that just put the plugin on my computer?

No

Even if you are running 64 bit it needs to rewrite the 32 bit as that is what TBird uses
