Hotkeys for the Applications

Hi,

the only reason why I keep going back to Asuite instead of the PA platform is, that there are no hotkeys for the applications possible.
Is this on the agenda or am I the only one who would like to start applications with a keyboard stroke instead of browsing the platform with the mouse?

Individual hotkeys for each

Individual hotkeys for each app are probably not going to happen. There are already quite a lot of official apps and hundreds more in beta testing so creating uniquely defined hotkeys for all of them is impossible.

I could see the possibility of predefined hotkeys for maybe a set number of favourited apps, but otherwise it is up to John if he is going to implement any level of user-defined hotkeys for apps.

Otherwise you can use find-as-you-type in the platform and enter enough of the app's name to either get down to one app left in the list, or for it to at least be the first in the list, and then hit enter to start it.

Shame. I was hoping for a more promising reply.
Asuite for example also doesn't have special predefined hotkeys for each and every application, but you can assign hotkeys to each application looking like Alt+[a letter] or Alt+[a number]. It doesn't allow duplicates. With this I can switch on or off an easy hotkey to my most used applications. I'm no programmer so I have no idea how complicated this is to implement, it looks very easy though.

thanks for the reply

Please, don't take my word as gospel that it won't happen.

I'm just a community member like you and I have no actual say as to what will and won't end up in the platform, beyond providing ideas and feedback for John to consider when I feel it is warranted. The only one who can say definitively would be John himself.

The only thing I can say for sure is that user-defined hotkeys is currently not on the list of upcoming platform features, but the list I'm looking at is in no way an exhaustive list of every feature that will ever end up in the platform.
