Hello and thanks..

I just wanted to give a hello since I just signed up here for some GiMP Portable help and say thanks.

I work for a small office and among my tasks are photo shooting, graphic design and editing, and basically anything they ask me to do.. burn this, print that, scan this, order this, etc.

Little by little, though the company takes away our things and does not upgrade.. I'm running an old single core computer (1.8Ghz?) with 1GB memory and they won't upgrade them. They locked down our computers so we're not administrators anymore. I can't even check the built in Windows calendar or burn a CD/DVD, which I used to be able to.

I can ask for things, but they never do anything about it. Our network consultant lives over an hour away and no matter how much you tell them they won't even do something as simple as installing an application or fixing a problem with our computers unless it's urgent. We had no Symantec Antivirus updates for over a year because of some problem, even though we had paid for it.

So, your website has really helped me. It's not like anyone is trying to do or install malicious things. Just want to update my GiMP to 2.8 rather than 2.6, because it has some nice features (single window mode) and doesn't crash as much. Also wanted to install Filezilla to upload files to our website. I made an online password protected place so people can view our products and I upload a few hundred photos every year. There's no way I can upload that many photos without FTP.
