backup delete if not in the source

I cannot find a post or something that talk about a very simple thing I want to do.

I would like to have mirror sync in the backup tab.
the options I've looked are:
>backup
>>PROS: several directories, zip compression
>>CONS: does not delete the files if it is not in the source

>mirror sync
>>PROS: It does delete if the source is not there BUT
>>CONS: only one directory, no compression.

I started looking at the scripting but I thought that I'm not asking that much, I cannot believe I'm the only one that wants that.

I really like the app, but this is stopping me to migrate totally to this app.

Thanks in advance

Juan

I am not the developer of the PortableApps.com Backup/Restore, but I'd like to offer an alternative solution.

In simple terms, it appears that you want your USB synchronized with a folder on your PC. One of the utilities here called Toucan has that capability. I suggest trying this out and having it set to synchronize your entire drive.

Hope this solves your problem, and

This question already relates to toucan.

To the original poster: Have you looked into making a script in toucan? This would allow you to run a saved sync job followed by a saved backup job, giving you exactly what you want.

shouldn't be that difficult

I was starting to look at the scripts, that's when I thought "this shouldn't be that difficult, there must be an easy way, let's ask the forum" so here I am.

Any way, I though of that but I don't see how that should work efficiently.
Here is how I can imagine that would work but adds a CONS of having intermediate folders. I'm not worried about the space but about the duration.

we have A,B and C folders that backups to A', B' and C'.
First sync/backup:
sync A->A', B->B', C->C'
backup A',B',C' to backup to ABC.7z

Later sync/backup:
extract ABC.7z to A',B',C'
sync A->A', B->B', C->C'
backup A',B',C' to backup to ABC.7z

I think shouldn't be that difficult to add the functionality of deleting if it is not in the source to the backup template instead of all this big workaround.

But it seems like is this or hopefully added in a later revision...

Nice!

First of all thanks!
Then is not working for several folders.
For example
c:\a
\b
\c

I select a and c, but in the zip I only get a
