Torpark renders forum mush

Why does Torpark render this "mush" in a forum I am a member of, but is just fine in regular Firefox?

In Torpark:

http://img143.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mushmg3.jpg

In Firefox:

Sorry, guess I'm not geeky enough to get how to insert pics here in the forum.

Thank you.

RE: Images

It would be HTML, not BBCode. Such as
<img src="http://img143.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mushmg3.jpg">

I may be wrong, but methinks you can't do this w/Drupal. Or is it just here?

Actually

<img src="http://img143.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mushmg3.jpg">
is wrong in XHTML. It's
<img src="http://img143.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mushmg3.jpg" />
Anyway, it's not Drupal, it's the filtered HTML. Check for yourself; it's not in the Allowed Tags.

It makes a lot of difference is the page is being served as application/xhtml+xml

Misunderstanding

In reply to: Lurking_Biohazard

You misunderstand. My problem is NOT that I don't know how to imbed a link in this forum, it is as I stated, having to do with the "mush" rendered with Torpark at another forum whereas the regular Firefox renders the page without "overtyping" on top of other text.

Please take a look at the two links I provided as examples.

Thank you.

I have seen this...

Once in a while i will get a page in FFP that will have text over images andover other text as well. My question though is does this happen everytime? For me it is randomand a refresh of the page generally fixes the issue for me. I have not used TorPark as I can't get out through the company Proxy/FW.

Yes

but you did want to know how to embed a image.
Lurk didn't know the answer, so he didn't post about it.

Somewhat

With me it is the same as BvF7734. As far as my post, I tried to help on the other "issue" at hand.

And yes, Ryan, I know that a missing "/" matters. Blum

Reply to "Yes" post by R McCue

Not really, I was simply confessing that I'm not a geek and don't know how to post an imbeded pic on the forum, same as over at the Torpark forum.

My REASON for posting, as stated by me TWICE, has not been really addressed or SOLVED.

I think this is my last go-round on this merry-go-round.

Thank you anyway.

When did we get a merry-go-round?!

Ok, I shut down my FFP & started Torpark.
I found the site/forum in question to see what I got.
Screenshot
I can view it fine, even when trying diff threads. I would suggest trying a fresh copy of Torpark & see if that helps at all.

Thank you Lurk. I did not save the URL for the download site for Torpark, so I'll have to do some checking.

I'm not sure I understand why one downloaded copy of Torpark would cause this while another will not.

I suppose that Firefox Extension Backup Extension will put me mostly back to normal if I have to try a different copy of Torpark.

What does the "P" in FFP stand for.

Thank you Lurk.

FFP = FireFox Portable
Try the unaltered Torpark first and see if it happens. If it doesn't, install your backed up extensions. Check the site again. If the problem reappers, it is an extension &/or combination of extensions causing the problem.

Good luck. Wink

off board contact

Is there any way for off board contact such as email?

Some forums provide for "semi-private" IM type of board contact or the ability to select if one wants to allow contact via email.

Yes

Go onto the user's profile page and select the contact tab at the top. That only works on people who have allowed contact.

option evidently not there

Thanks. I think that was the problem. Evidently he does not allow that as I did not see that option.

No option.

Not on my account, at least. Just change the _ to . and add Gmail.

Lost in the fury...

I DID have a reply to your post all prepared, but I lost it in the effort to address the big powers here over my posting.

Thank you for your reply, however.

This is the 4th time you've made a comment and then altered it to say "Removed" or "Deleted" within this thread. I've deleted the others. If you have a comment, make it. If you're not sure, wait until you are. But please stop making one and then editing it to say Removed or Deleted.

Yes Sir

Sorry, Sir, but if you allowed messaging between members, this might not be as bad a situation as you now point out.

I hope to be done with this issue shortly.

Thank you, Sir, for allowing me to clog up your lines for an important issue.

At least for me.

Unrelated

Which has nothing to do with you leaving 4 different nonsense comments in this thread.

Contact is disabled for a reason. Drupal, the software that runs this site, has a built-in contact ability but it is flawed. It sends out an email from this mail server but with a from address of the person making the contact attempt. With the advent of SPF (Sender Policy Framework), emails of this nature get blocked or auto-deleted on a not-unregular basis since the sending mail server is not on the approved list of the person actually intiating the contact. So, rather than providing an unreliable contact ability, it's disabled. Lots of folks have a homepage anyway that they can refer people to if they want someone to contact them.
I'm working on a custom fix for this issue but it is a low priority.

Now please stop posting "removed" comments.

Sir,

They may have appeared to you or your staff as "nonsense comments", but I ASSURE you that at the time of posting, they were valid concerns.

I'll do my level best to never again tear you away from more pressing matters in order to request of your humble servant to stop policing my own posts since you ALSO don't allow for members to remove their own post(s) within a reasonable period of time.

SUGGESTION:

Perhaps you might want to consider software which does "pre-emptive" non-allowance for idiots who sign up in your forum with such idiotic and tell-tale user names a DribsNDrabs.

Just a thought, Sir.

If you post a valid comment, leave it. There's no reason to remove it if it is something which contributes. Also, lay off the sarcasm. Purposely trying to get a rise out of others or insult others has no place here.
