Calendar Extension

I know there's already a link in PA.com for a calendar extension, but Mozilla is no longer working with it, instead they are working on Sunbird (a whole calendar app that John already has made portable) and Lightning (which is a TB or FF extension, similar to Calendar)

So here's my request. With calendar you could add a parameter to open the calendar without opening TB (see here). Is there a way to do this with the new Lightning extension? I'm guessing the only thing we (I) will need is the launcher to open the calendar. Thanks.

I

believe that you can just pass the parameters to ThunderbirdPortable.exe and that it will pass them on, try it and see.

Well...

Thanks Steve. I dont really know much about programs (programing), but I try my best and if that fails, I research. So being that I'm not that gifted from a programer's point of view, tell me if I got this right. I made a shortcut of ThunderbirdPortable.exe and on the properties wrote -calendar at the end. Is this what you ment? Well that didn't work. Also, PStart as a parameter option, and I typed -calendar inside of it, that did not work either. If I misunderstood you, please let me know what I did wrong. If I understood you correctly, then, thanks for your help.

I grabed a copy of the OOo code to make a launger using parameters, but I think I must have done something wrong cause that did not help either.

Like I said above, I know the old extension had this ability, but I dont know about the new extension, but I appreciate any help given.

Well

If you used something like "E:\Thunderbird Portable\ThunderbirdPortable.exe" -calendar" then you did everything right.

At first I thought

it something wrong with TBP, but after installing TB locally, I realized that it does not work the way Mozilla says it does. I'll just wait till Lightning matures a bit more, or until some else figures out how to do it.

So, John T., I suggest changing the link of the calendar extension to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/lightning/download.html, although the calendar link you have is for both FF and TB, and Lightning is just for TB

I use

Lightning and it is getting a lot more mature. It's on 0.3 ATM, I think.

Tis

I actually held TB 1.5.0.7 due to the Lightning 0.3 release and am testing compatibility. I'll probably post another pre-release today and ask for some testing assistance.
