Assumed that both in the PA.com Menu is installed jPortable and on the host PC is Java locally installed. Furthermore both installed Java versions should differ from each other. In the PA.c Menu I have installed an application, which can use Java but does not depend on its being available. Accordingly the necessary command will be:
[Activate] Java=find
My question is now, which JRE the app will used? Or must I determine in an additional command, which of the both JRE the app should use?
jPortable will be used. If it isn't found, that's when the host pc is checked for Java.
Thanks for your info. By the way in both Google Chrome Portable and Firefox Portable you can find out the used version and location of the java plugin as follows:
Paste in the address bar about:config and set plugin.expose_full_path to "true". Now paste in the address bar about:plugins.
Paste in the address bar about:plugins. Now click "Details" on the right.
I would be interested if it is possible in Google Chrome Portable and Firefox Portable to switch between different JRE. Suppose a particular Java applet does not work with a specific version of Java (it may be in my case jPortable). Can I trigger in such a case within the browser, that it use instead the other Java version (it may be in my case the locally installed Java)?
Meanwhile I've detected about the Add-ons-Manager of Firefox Portable, that there are listed both JRE (JRE 7 Update 5 about jPortable and JRE 6 Update 33 about local installation on my PC). To switch between Java versions back and forth, I need to enable the appropriate version and simultaneously disable the other version.
In contrast in the Google Chrome Portable browser appears only the more recent version of Java, when I have pasted chrome://plugins in the address bar. Accordingly I can only enable/disable this one version. Therefore it's obviously impossible to switch between both Java versions in that browser. Maybe there is still another way to realize this feature, which to me is not currently known.
