The app store integration with the portable apps launcher (Get More Apps; Check For Updates) is a fantastic idea. Now, as I've started to portabilize a number of apps for my personal and professional use such as:
- MediathekView: A portable java client to watch and download German free-tv
- MitTec Icon Explorer: A tool to extract icons
- CPU-Z: A system information tool
I'd be happing to contribute a number of portabilized apps to the PortableApps.com app catalog but I have no clue how. I'did spend some time browsing through the forums to find hints on the process. I believe it starts with a public beta test.
Could anyone please give me an hint on where to look for documentation on how to become an app contributor?
Feedback is greatly appreciated. Sorry if that is the wrong forum to ask that question.

Howdy Peter and welcome. The process involves packaging the app according to the PortableApps.com Format Specification outlined in the Development section. At that point, you can post it in the Development Beta Test forum for others to check out. At this point for freeware you either need to get publisher permission or to ask for permission and temporarily post it as an online installer until you get permission for testing. (Without permission, it won't be added to the App Directory). Then a few of us will check it out, confirm nothing is left behind using Regshot Portable in a clean Windows XP VM, double check all the spec is followed and possibly offer suggestions for improvements. Once it looks good, it gets added to the Apps Ready For Official Release topic and then goes from there. We process apps with publisher support before others. That all make sense?
