Start Menu appearing in taskbar

Have just installed windows 7 on my laptop and now I have a slight problem with the portable apps menu.
Each time I open it along with the notification icon on the right of the taskbar I get a notification on the left where all the other open applications appear and this cant be gotten rid of without closing the application. Not sure if its a windows setting or a setting in the menu that can be changed but is there somehow it can be removed as it is quite annoying specially since I always run portable applications over actual installed applications for convinience.

Easily fixed

Just an ini setting for the platform. This will tell you how to fix it.

Thanks heaps for that worked

Thanks heaps for that worked perfectly.
Im not sure who updates this app and stuff but I would recommend adding that line to the next release instead of everyone having to go add it themselves later unless of course if it causes issues elsewhere

By Design

This default is by design as the system tray icons are all hidden by default due to them being de-emphasized in Windows 7 and 8. This means most users don't know that they're there.

The default will remain the same and have three options in the next release: Always In Task Bar, Always In System Tray, Automatic Based on OS (the current default setting).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Works wonders for my desktop!

Thank you! It would have been extra nice though if we could select to launch all portable apps in minimized mode, regardless of whether they have this functionality in-built within them! Wink
