I want to create my own menu for instance with the name MyApp.
Can this be done, and if so how to do this?
Thanx

How do you mean? A category within the PortableApps.com Platform with your app in it? Or do you mean you want to do a custom branded version of the PortableApps.com Platform that's supported and can be used commercially while still automatically working with all our tools (contact our Business Development address)? Or do you mean you want to build your own version of the PortableApps.com Platform with your own branding that we don't support (you'll need Delphi XE2 and to remove our branding and themes/trade dress from the package but preserve our copyrights and follow the GPL for distribution)?

I just wanted to put my own programs in a directory and then add them to the portableapps menu. I found out that when you put any program within the portableapps program directory and do a refresh of the apps, then it is seen by the portableapps menu and placed within the other menu.
But I would have preffered
MyApps
- Utilities
- Internet
- etc
If this requires custom development, then I wil do it the other way.
I want to keep my own programs seperate fro the original PortableApps.
I found a way to do it somehow different.
Thank you
You can recategorize them as you wish within the menu, including creating your own category to place them in. If you mean the directory on disk, everything goes within the PortableApps directory. You can place anything you want and it will detect it. There's not much reason to have things in separate directories as all the portable apps will work with or without the platform, so it's not like anything is tied together. So, not much reason to keep your nonPAF apps in a separate directory from your PAF apps. You can name the directories of your nonPAF apps anything you'd like, so you can prefix them with a z_ or a - to keep them all grouped together when you view them in Explorer.
