If you use the search function

on the top right of the page, you will find Dropbox Portable 1.2.51 Development Test 2. This is no longer being developed. Part of the problem is that after Dropbox v1.1.45, Dropbox encrypts some of it's data files. It's the same reason, DropboxPortableAHK uses version 1.1.45.

BTW, I do use DropboxPortableAHK on several machines. I've found it to be the best option out there, at the moment...

I understand that.

What I was trying to state was that there used to be Dropbox Portable here, but it has ceased in part because Dropbox now encrypts at least some of their data files. Since it will not be possible to get it portable without Dropbox themselves getting involved, I simply pointed you to the alternative that you are already using.

As far as I know, it is the only portable implementation of Dropbox that is currently working. The link I provided to you by me, has some issues with it and may no longer work. It also was not fully portable. Since it's no longer developed, it is use at your own risk. Who knows, maybe it will work for you. On my system, it had issues.

Other than that, please feel free to contact Dropbox themselves, and see if they make a Portable version. Or you could contact the author of DropboxPortableAHK at http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=33387 and leave a comment there for him.

I know this isn't a perfect solution, but I hope it helps. Peace...

Recent versions of the

Recent versions of the Dropbox client cannot be made truly portable because information that needs to be accessed by the launcher is encrypted. For as long as this is the case you won't see an official release here.

As Bill suggested your effort is better placed asking Dropbox for a portable version, or asking Dropbox to approach PortableApps.com about how they can help us to create a portable version.

I am not

an official developer. Just a long time member, and a very novice un-official developer of a few portable apps located on this site. I have no intention of ever doing a portable Dropbox, as that is way beyond my skill set. Mostly I just answer questions asked (when I can), and leave development to those better able than I. Sorry if you thought otherwise...
