Do I need Windows admin permissions to install Portableapps?

Hello all,

I intended to use portableapps to run skype from PC with no admin rights. But it looks that I need admin just to install the platform itself.

I've put installer "PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_11.0.1.exe" to the root of flash drive and ran it. And (sure) got message that I have no appropriate permissions.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Shouldn't

Nothing requires admin rights to install and only apps that need admin rights for what they do (low-level access to drives to defragment, access to admin areas to clean, etc) require admin rights.

You should download the platform to your desktop and run it. Then point it to your flash drive in the browse section of the installer to install it.

Keep in mind that some corporate/university PCs may be fully locked down and not allow you to run anything that's not installed locally.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

no rights to run .exe

I have the same problem on a corporate computer. Is it possible to download a zip or full size file or folder structure that I could then just copy to my thumb drive?
I have been googling for this for a while now and can't find anything.
Let me know.
Thanks
