How to import IE Favorites into SeaMonkey Portable?

Firefox (Portable) allows importing of IE Favorites at the time of setup.
SeaMonkey (Full Windows Install) allows ditto, using Bookmark Manager.
But SeaMonkey (Portable) does not, that I can see.
One can do it in any number of ways -- e.g. rather laboriously one by one, or even batch job through some kind of script -- but is there some obvious Import mechanism that I'm missing?
(I've got a LOT. I went into Firefox Portable and built a places.js using the available IEF import tool and then imported that into SeaMonkey, but that was a performance.)
Thank you,
Fergus

Solution for your problem

For the following solution I will use the IE 8. In a first step you must export your IE Favorites to a file. Afterwards you can import this file within Seamonkey portable. Here now the instructions in detail:

  • Export of IE Favorites to a file
  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Press the "Alt" key to show the IE menu toolbar, if the menu bar is hidden (File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help menu items).
  3. In the IE menu bar, go to "File -> Import and Export..."
  4. Follow the prompts to export your IE favorites to a file, which will be named "bookmark.htm" by default.
  5. After you've finished exporting your IE Favorites to a file, use the SeaMonkey Portable Bookmarks Manager and import the file.
  • Import the file in SeaMonkey Portable
    1. Please choose Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks... -> Tools -> Import HTML... ->In the opened window "Import Wizard" check the radio button "File" next to "Import Bookmarks from:" -> Choose the file "bookmark.htm", which you have saved previously.
