I was having problems with my 3 year old USB 2 Patriot Rage Xporter connecting to the computer, here is what was causing the problem. It blew me away. I never knew this could have happen.

Back when I had my old Cruzer USB drive that slid in/out rather than using a cap, I'd get some lint or similar junk stuck in the opening, but it never got any deeper, and I could usually pick it out with my fingernails. Only a couple times can I recall actually needing to shovel it out with a paper clip though. Nice video.
Thanks. I was blown away, cause I thought I wore out the USB connector as I have Portable Apps on that drive and it gets used a lot. Never thought lint could accumulate over the years like that, but it makes sense now.
I would never buy another retractable USB Flash Drive. Only ones with a cap from now on.
Caps get lost, forgotten, cracked, stepped on. No caps for me.
