Backup list of apps to the website

I think it would help a lot of people if the platform regularly or manually lists the apps you have installed and saves the options to your portableapps.com account that way if you format your flash drive or it gets lost or broken you dont have to think about what you had installed on it, you just go to the platform click something that says restore from site or something like that and it downloads all the apps and options you had with it. And does anybody know when 12 betas are supposed to start being released? its been a couple weeks since they said they were going to start releasing betas.

Possibility

There's a possibility we could implement that. It's not terribly useful, though, as you wouldn't have any of your data, which is the important bit. A far better option is to regularly backup your drive using the Platform's built-in backup functionality. We'll be enhancing it so you can do full restores of your apps and data from just the data backup shortly as well.

The first 12 Beta release was supposed to happen this week, but our shared and home offices and several of our developers are hampered by the hurricane. We just lost cell service in addition to cable, internet and phone and are working when we can from alternate locations.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Hm

I wouldnt want to have my app list stored anywhere. But as there already is an option to show and save a list of installed apps, maybe there could be a way to tell the app installer to use said list to reinstall.

good idea

i like that idea better than mine, it's simpler than backing it up to the website.
