Application: OpenJDK
Category: Utilities
Description: From the publisher's website:
What is this? The place to collaborate on an open-source implementation of the Java Platform, Standard Edition, and related projects.
Update! These testing releases have been superseded by gluxon who created a more secure build based on the most recent OpenJDK source. You can find his release here. I highly recommend using his build over these, but I will keep these versions for those who prefer older (and notably less secure) builds.
Note: This is a plugin, similar to jPortable. It installs to the CommonFiles folder.
Warning: The OpenJDK 7 build is based on the reference build from Oracle. It carries the following warning directly from their site:
"These binaries are provided primarily for use by implementors of the Java SE 7 Platform Specification and are recommended for reference purposes only. The Reference Implementations have been approved by the JCP and will receive no further updates, not even for security issues. Binaries for development and production use will be available from Oracle, from Java SE Licensees, and in most popular Linux distributions."

Is the OpenJDK 7 build here the RI build?
This is the reference build as given under the OpenJDK banner direct from Oracle. Here is the link.
I would make a note of that. I mentioned in a previous post that I wouldn't even touch the RI build due to security issues.
I'll copy that into the description. I think I have a warning on my BlueJ page so mind's well.
Great! Can I ask you to test out the new OpenJDK 7 Update 9 build I posted? I got it working to run Eclipse and compile Java projects, so just want to see if it works with Netbeans and BlueJ too.
If you can link to the page/download/location-of-interest, then sure thing. Better yet, link it in the JDK discussion thread. There, more people will take a look at it.
I added the link to the OpenJDK Status thread.
