Memory Hog

I run FfP 1.5.0.7 from a 2gb Adata thumb drive. When doing simple things in FfP such as switching tabs or opening a page in a new tab, the CPU usage soars and either operation takes a very long time. This doesn't happen with the Ff run from my C drive, nor do any other programs run slowly from the thumb drive.

Am I the only one having this problem?

Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks for your help.

Session saving

You're describing a symptom often associated with extensions that do session saving, crash recovery, and undo close tabs. These features cause writes to the drive every time you open or close a tab, or when you switch tabs. On an HDD, that's not a problem, but on flash drives, it slows things down and reduces drive life.

Internote

I didn't have any of the extensions you mentioned; but I did have internote, and based on your explanation of why the others would cause the slowdown I was able to find the problem extension. I lost a nifty extension, but the browser is nice and speedy.

Thank you for your help!

I use the

I use the config.trim_on_minimize = true hack.

It works fairly well.
