Safe to remove oldest versions of Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable ?

Is it
always a good idea to
remove oldest versions of Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable ?

What about Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable ?
Is it automatically redundant too, or
should I leave it there ?
