Unable to edit dev test page?

It seems I am now unable to edit the dev test page. The top only shows 'view' and 'revisions.' Has the way to edit this page changed, or was I mistakenly removed from being allowed to edit that page?

Try Again

It was set to the wrong filter content type.

Hmm.

Still doesn't appear to be fixed.

Which Page?

You are set as a devs and devs can edit wiki pages. I have turned off the ability for devs to edit their own app pages, though, as I have restricted full HTML to sysadmins only. Some devs were linking to external JavaScript despite not being supposed ti. Which page specifically can't you edit?

Me too

https://portableapps.com/development/test

So we can't add new features and fix typos anymore? Sad

Javascript

The ability to do Javascript has been restricted. An unnamed Dev linked a blog post of his to a table-sort Javascript on another Dev's personal site just so the columns in his table of released apps was sort clickable. That site got hacked because Drupal wasn't kept up to date. Since that Javascript was incorporated on a single page here (our of 10s of thousands), it got PortableApps.com blacklisted by Google as a malware site. The full HTML was always listed for pages only and it was against policy to use it for blogs posts or forum posts, but some folks have been known to do it anyway. So, full HTML is no longer permitted to be used by devs.

As a workaround, I've updated the HTML for Devs filter to ensure it works for most everything but Javascript. And it can be used on stories and on wiki pages (like the Development Tests page). But, yes, this means devs can't edit book pages (aka app directory) pages anymore as they use Javascript for the new SourceForge download buttons which provide us a small amount of revenue.

There's a permissions issue preventing editing of the wiki page by devs at the moment, but I'm working on it.

Ok,

but I can't edit my stories as well (maybe same permissions issues as wiki page).
How should we inform you/the users about new features?

Stories

At the moment, stories are still posted as Full HTML, which would explain why you can't edit them. Devs don't have permission to do Full HTML. I'll work on doing future ones as editable. It may be moot, though, as we may be doing app release stories automated in the near future.

Try Now

It was still set as full HTML instead of HTML for Devs.
