No response.

This is not technically a response other than to say please search before you post.

There is a search box in upper right corner.

Also the guidelines of the forum clearly ask you to search before asking a duplicate question. https://portableapps.com/forums/guidelines

Yes

Yes I pretty sure every body is aware of this. you just have to wait until John gets a chance to get to it. you know it isn't easy maintaining a website, forum, portable apps, possibly a family at the same time :>

Oph...

Cand you relax?

OK, I didn't use the "Search" option, but I surely browsed (apparently not enough) to verify it wasn't posted before. I didn't know either that it was a single person packing everything into portable form. I'M SO SORRY. I'm new here.

You can say exactly the same without sounding so "annoyed". It's not worth the effort for such a small matter.

Not a small thing.

John has provided portable open source programs on this site and provided a forum for support and development. Between the many regulars and John himself, it seems as though they take up to 1/2 of their time answering the posts that fall into these three categories.

1. "Hey did you know a new version of ______ has been released?" This is usually posted by someone within 12-24hrs after any new version comes out.
2. "Can you make ________ portable?" This type of post rarely contains any info about the program requested and is usually a closed source program.
3. People who post questions or notifications that have been posted 2,3,4 or even 10 times before and answered at least as many times.

John is trying to establish PortableApps.com Forums as a good support and development forum with as little junk posting as possible. It can get very annoying.

I understand...

...but the first answer, "check the guidelines" was just enough to avoid cluttering the forum as this thread is doing.
Among these guidelines, which I admit I just checked, it's also asked to avoid overposting and to be polite.

Your 1, 2 and 3 items could be fixed at the top of the forum if it's truly so frequent.

But lets stop, please. It's really, REALLY not worth going on. Well, for me at least, so this is my last post on the matter. I got it, you reached the desired goal, so there's no reason to continue.

Only since...

th day before it was released officially. As for not searching... There is easily 10 posts I can think of off the top of my head in several sections that have announced that FF2 is out. Including a dupe post from the same guy in the same section. Only the whole world knows of its release and if you just found out... I pity you.

I can see your point about the drinkin before postin. Can cause one to not appear to be completely withit of which unfortunately also comes accross as n00b who wants everything handed to them. They both sound the same without knowing of the liquid dinner. Wink You can use FFP2.0RC3 as it is the same as the full release just it has the RC3 moniker in it. John will release the updated FFP when he is ready to.

Not a matter

As mentioned, it's not a matter of me being ready:

Rock!

I had not seen that thread yet so that is why i answered the way i did. Following other posts, I know that most of the time it is all a matter of balancing your personal schedule to meet the demands of the freeloaders on the net. I was unaware till now about the behind the scenes on the 2.0 release. Even after you release it, i will still use 1.5.0.7 until all of my extensions are upgraded to work with 2.0 or a suitable replacement for the odler ones is found.

Thanx again for all of your hard work John! Not everyone says thank you but there is a group of people on the net that praise your contribution to us all. Thanx again!
