Not sure why I never noticed the tooltip before when hovering over a menu item in the PA menu. I've searched through the site and noticed a large number of requests to include it.
My question is: is there any setting that hides the tooltips if you don't want to see them? I know where my apps are stored, have a good idea who the developers are and the version of the app being used. For me it just creates 'noise' when using the menu.
Will gladly accept that various people wanted it, but was the display of this detail made optional or obligatory? Can it be switched off if needs be?
Thanks.
There isn't yet, but I've added it to the list of confirmed upcoming features so we'll be sure to include it: https://portableapps.com/node/28593
It's an easy thing to implement. And I'd wager a small percentage but decent number of users would use it, so the 10 minutes to code it up will be more than worth it. If you have any other feature requests, feel free to make them in the linked topic.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks for the update John.
I did look in the aforementioned node and wondered if I should post there, but thought, "if there is an existing solution, then I didn't want to clog up feature requests unnecessarily".
I can see the advantages of being able to see that detail. I had a non-PA portable app installed, but then noticed same in PA-Beta zone, so downloaded that. Then I needed to work out which link to delete. So, yes the tooltip does come in handy, but it would be nice to switch it off if not needed.
Thanks for taking up the request.
