FF Portable is using local desktop plugins

I am running FF Portable (17.0.1) for the first time today. I installed it onto a flash drive then tried running it from there. I expected that it would not have any plugins but it loaded all my local plugins and could it could run flash and Unity3d.

When I go to "Add-ons" I see the same list of plugins as I would see running the local desktop copy of FF.

I'm confused because, for one, I don't want this behaviour, and two, I didn't think it could even happen.

How can I disabled this behaviour and simply have FFP use the plugins that I've put on the stick? (currently I have no plugins on the stick)

By Design

This is by design as Firefox purposely detects all local plugins. If you'd like to disable it, you can disable it using advanced settings in the about:config file: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries#Plugin.

Huh?

Could you please be more specific. I am having the same issue as mentioned above and I would like to turn it off, but not sure where to navigate on the website to find information on how to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you so much.

Link Again

Use the above link again. It was missing the period. It goes right to the plugin section of that page now.

Thank You!

Much thanks! Is there anyway I can give you a "rep point" or something like that. New to this forum, but on some of the other one's that I am on there is sometimes a button you can click to give someone a "rep point" if they help you. Is there a way I can do that on this forum?

Not Currently

We don't have anything like that here currently. But you're welcome Smile
