For over the last year, i have tried numerous times to install Google Chrome Portable on my Desktop PC and on my USB on different computers but have failed to. My last successfully installed version was 2.3.5.0. The error i get every time i try to install is:
"The installer was unable to download Google Chrome(Stable). The installation of the portable app will be incomplete without it. Please try installing again. (ERROR: Access Forbidden(403))"
Could anyone please help? I would really like to update my current portable version. Oh and using the Portable Apps Updater to install or update doesn't work either.

Your current location is blocked from downloading from Google. 403 access forbidden indicates that. Where are you located? (Country as well as if you're at an office or university)

I live in Pakistan. I have tried downloading it both from home as well as the university.

Pakistan isn't on the list of countries with export restrictions from the US (Iran, Cuba, North Korea, etc), so it is unlikely that Google or SourceForge is blocking you. I believe you are subject to a block by your own government. I know it has been widely reported that Pakistan is blocking YouTube and other Google properties. It would be unsurprising if they blocked SourceForge as well, since it contains numerous open source networking apps that can be used to gain access to the rest of the internet. Can you download the Chrome installer directly?

I installed a proxy and with that i have successfully downloaded the Portable Chrome.
