Local server for web development

Hello! Tell me please, what terms need for adding a program into PortableApps? Program must be open source or not? Question about the program Openserver (http://open-server.ru/download.html) - Portable local server for website development. The program has an English interface.

xampp

https://portableapps.com/apps/development/xampp

xampp could help in this as this is a server suite for local ops.

XAMPP

Yes, I know, but I used XAMPP more than 2 years and I can not say that it is also useful as Openserver.

Permission needs to be

Permission needs to be obtained from the developer if the application is free, but not open source unless it has already been stated that there is the freedom to modify/distribute as you please.
If an application is open source then permission is not needed, though I am sure at least some communication would be appreciated.
If open source then it also allows potentially for modifications to improve the portability, taking better practices rather than the launcher having to clean up after it.

If at first you do not succeed, use more sticky tape.

Permissions

I talked to the developer before posting topic, he does not mind. OpenServer is not open source, but freeware.

Some additional things to

Some additional things to consider: Open Server bundles a few freeware apps (and some open source apps that would require special permissions due to branding) into its package.

Unless the developer of Open Server can prove they have permission to redistribute those apps (and/or their trademarked branding) then they are repackaging them illegally, and it could not legally be made portable by us.

I am currently downloading the package to see (almost 400Mb, also a strike against it for considering it for PortableApps), but I wouldn't be surprised if most of those apps were PortableApps versions they were repackaging. I must say I really am not a fan of crippling a users download bandwidth unless they "donate" to the project.

EDIT: It took over 2 hours to download on a fairly decent connection thanks to their bandwidth limiting, and as expected a lot of the apps bundled in Open Server are PortableApps versions.

Big size and other apps

I talked to the developer and tried to explain that is the wrong way - include other software into local server. If you need a platform to work with portable applications, then best way to use Portable Apps Platform for this. I'm don't talking about a full version (400 Mb), I'm talking about Openserver Mini (103 Mb). XAMPP installer has the same size (102 Mb). P.S.: Sorry for my English.

Open Server

Hi! I am the author of the program Open Server. The program is a portable platform for web development. Open Server - it's much more functional software complex than XAMPP or WAMPSERVER.
The assembly includes php, apache, mysql, postgresql, ftp, sendmail, and many more. Version "Mini" includes only the server part of the platform.
It would be useful to add the Open Server Mini to PortableApps suite. Please send me (info @ open-server.ru) any reports of poor translation, because I used Google Translate.

What about Subject?

What about Subject? Open Server is a very powerful server platform for local use. It is much more powerful than XAMPP or Wampserver.
