SourceForge wins for hosting apps. Github wins for hosting code. Most of the top github projects are about code... libraries and things for building other stuff. You'll note that almost none of the top github projects have binary downloads of any sort. While all of the top SourceForge projects have binary downloads. Github is targeted at devs developing stuff for other devs. SourceForge is targeted at devs releasing things for business and end users.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
